Dark Field
Can someone explain the workings behind Dark Field Microscopes?
I know that in a Light Field. you shine light that is semiblocked by the specimen to create a dark image on a ligh background.
How does this work for the Dark Field Microscope. Is light reflected back to the examiner to show a light image on a dark background? if not please tell me, if yes, please give me a bit more explaination
Thank you!
This is a nice website for all things microscopy, including darkfield microscopy:

If you have Java installed on your computer, you can try out the Java applet, it lets you move a “specimen” over the stage and visualizes the scattering of light if the specimen is in different positions.
