Doppler Fetal
Experiences with at home dopplers?
I’ve been wanting to get an at home doppler (fetal heart monitor) for a couple of weeks now but I’ve heard so many mixed reviews of them. Some say they hear neighbors cell phone conversations instead of a heartbeat! I’m not interested in spending a small fortune on one, but I saw one at the local maternity shop for only about $50. Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with these, good or bad, and if it’s possible that this cheaper one will be as effective as one you have to pay out the wazoo for?
Im in the uk, but i got a cheap doppler on amazon and it works brilliantly. I dont get any interference and can hear my baby’s heartbeat, kicks etc clear as day. You have to listen very carefully when they are little, and a lot of the time you can hear your own heartbeat rather than the baby’s but so long as you are patient its well worth it. I had bleeding the the early weeks and didnt have a scan from week 6 to week 12 and was so worried. At 10 weeks i could hear my baby on the doppler and it put my mind at rest so much! I would say that they are worth the money for your own peace of mind but where possible buy one that customers have reviewed as thats the most reliable way of seeing if they are good!
