Burning a Candle in a Jar Lab?(conclusion)?
Purpose: To see what happens if we lit a small birthday candle in a shallow container with colored water on the bottom. With a 100 mL and 250 mL beaker upside down on top of the small birthday candle in the small container.
the candle with the 100ml beaker lasted 2-3 sec.
the candle with the 250ml beaker lasted 12-14 sec.
it has something to do with Oxygen helping to burn nitrogen and nitrogen
can you explain what i should put in my conclusion?
In order for flame to last it has to have oxygen. In the bigger beakers the fire would obviously last longer because there was more oxygen in it compared to the other one.
