can i use Borax Pentahydrate instead of Borax Decahydrate?
I am making a Homemade Detergent which asks for 20 Mule Team Borax, which is a Decahydrate of Borax. In Greece the 20 mule team borax is not available in small boxes, however i was successful in finding a bulk supplier who can give me Borax Pentahydrate.
Technically speaking Borax Pentahydrate – Disodium Tetraborate Pentahydrate ( Na2B4O7 – 5H2O ) is just a concentrate of Borax Decahydrate – Disodium Tetraborate Decahydrate ( Na2B4O7 – 10H2O ).
So, my question is, Can i replace Pentahydrate for Decahydrate, just to make the quantity Half ?
